When you adopt a cat from MAP Rescue the animal has been vet checked, tested for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), commenced vaccination course for feline herpes virus, feline calicivirus and feline panleukopaenia (FV4), desexed, microchipped and wormed. To purchase all these procedures privately it would cost more than $350 for a female cat and $250 for a male cat but we are able to offer it all at the highly subsidised cost of $195. If you adopt more than one cat then the we can reduce the adoption fee.
When you adopt a dog from MAP Rescue, the animal has been vet checked, commenced the vaccination course for Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Parinfluenza and Bordatella bronchiseptica (C5), desexed, microchipped and wormed. To purchase all these procedures privately the cost would range from $350 to $500 depending on the size and sex of the animal but we are able to offer it all at the highly subsidised cost of $295.
There are people who may balk at paying this much for a animal and in this situation we ask that they seriously reflect on their decision to own a pet and whether they are willing and able to be financially responsible for such a commitment. It is important to realise that adopting an animal is a long-term commitment (12 to 15 yrs) and requires serious contemplation and dedication. If you are unsure whether your circumstances are suitable for pet ownership please contact your local vet or talk to the team at MAP Rescue.
